I think this material is more detailed than an introduction. It may be an introduction for someone who has been involved with data analysis and data mining. Very technical formulas. Novice should review other materials prior to this book.
I just started reviewing this book. It appears to be a very good book, but definitely a very detailed and technical to be an introduction.
